Force and Movement
Forcefulness and movement are fundamental to all matter in the universe and are integral parts of our daily lives. A force is a push or a pull on an object that is caused past an interaction with another object. Forces influence objects that are at rest or that are already in motion. Isaac Newton's three laws of move depict how forces interact with objects to influence motion. These laws involve inertia, mass, velocity, and momentum. Key forces include gravity, friction, and magnetism. A force is required to do work, and generating a forcefulness requires energy. Energy can exist stored as potential energy, or it tin can have kinetic energythe energy of motion. Energy can also be converted and exchanged through energy transfer.

Read-First Model
In the read-kickoff model, students brainstorm past reading texts that help them build a foundation of understanding with the core science ideas of the unit of measurement. And so they appoint in hands-on investigations and use other resources to explore examples related to the concepts they read almost. Students acquire near general concepts before using deductive reasoning to employ them to specific examples.
Vocabulary resources can be used at multiple points throughout the unit to develop and strengthen students fluency with the disciplinary language of science. TIP: Claiming students to maintain a concept web throughout the unit that connects the examples they explore later on in the roadmap back to the cadre ideas they read about in the Unit Nonfiction Book.

Do-First Model
In the do-outset model*, students are immersed in unit concepts by completing hands-on investigations that allow them to apply science and applied science practices and construct their own explanations of cadre ideas. And so students read texts, watch videos, and complete more investigations that assistance them ostend or refine their explanations. Vocabulary resources can exist used at multiple points throughout the unit to develop and strengthen students fluency with the disciplinary linguistic communication of science. TIP: Have students employ a scientific discipline journal to tape the examples they explore through activities and readings, and so challenge them to design a concept spider web that connects those examples to the core ideas they read about in the Unit Nonfiction Book toward the cease of the roadmap.

Projection-Based Model
In the project-based model*, students work in teams to investigate a science question or pattern a solution to an engineering challenge. The PBL Project Organizer, SAZ Journal, completed projection, and group presentation all let students to demonstrate what they take learned and accomplished. The PBL Didactics Tips help teachers facilitate the projection, while rubrics for teachers and students can be used to assess grouping and individual performance. During planning and execution, students use other unit of measurement resource to build their understanding of core concepts that they can utilize to their projection.
