Metallic Votive Candles
We rarely use store bought candles in our domicile equally making candles is so unproblematic and cheap. I have been noticing metal candle holders in a lot of my favorite interior stores lately, and then I wanted to share with you a DIY version you can brand from dollar store votives.

You will demand:
- Glass Votives
- Metallic Spray Paints (I used gold and copper)
- Pre-waxed Candle Wicks
- Soy Wax Flakes (Microwavable is easier)
- Gum Dots
- Glass Jug
- Wooden Spoon
- Wooden Skewers or Pencils
- Essential Oil (optional)

Begin by spray painting your votives gold. Spray painting is all-time washed outside or in areas with enough of ventilation. I used a cardboard box with one side removed to minimise any mess. Calorie-free strokes are all-time and be sure to get out your projection to dry between coats.

In one case the gilt coats were dry, I sprayed lite coats of copper paint in horizontal strokes across the top of the votives. This gives a subtle mixed metallic look. It's amazing how metallic spray paints can make a dollar store find look expensive!

Adjacent, utilise your glue dots to fix a pre-waxed candle wick to the within of each votive.

Cook i iii/4 cups of soy wax flakes in your glass jug. I did this in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring in between. If you lot don't have a microwave, you can identify the jug into a saucepan of h2o – this ordinarily works best on an consecration stove.

An optional stride is to add fragrance to your wax. I used a vanilla essential oil equally I similar scented candles, simply information technology is up to you lot which fragrance you lot choose.

In order for the wicks to remain in place when the wax is poured and setting, I gently wrapped each one around a wooden skewer which I then rested across the top of the votive.

In one case you have poured your wax into the votives, leave to dry completely.

Trim the wicks to effectually 0.5cm before called-for to avoid large flames or flickering.
I love how they look as a trio!
